Trichomoniasis

Symptoms

Usually there are no signs or symptoms in men. When there are symptoms they may include irritation inside the penis, mild discharge, burning after urination or ejaculation. Symptoms for women may include frothy, yellow-green vaginal discharge with strong odor, discomfort during intercourse and urination, irritation or itching in genital area, or lower abdominal pain (rarely).

How it’s Spread

Trichomoniasis can be spread during sexual contact, including penis to vagina or vagina to vagina contact.

Men usually only contract infection from women, but women can contract it from men or women.

Treatment

Trichomoniasis can be treated with prescribed medication.
