Don’t have health insurance?

If you don’t have health insurance and are concerned about paying for birth control Iowa has a special Medicaid program that can help you by covering the cost of family planning services. The Iowa Family Planning Network is for women ages 13-44 who have NO health insurance. If you have Iowa Care you are still eligible for this program. You may be able to participate in this program based on your income and family size. You must be a US citizen or qualified immigrant and an Iowa resident to participate in this program. Your local family planning clinic can determine if this program is right for you.

If you are on Medicaid because you are pregnant you can participate in the Iowa Family Planning Network after you have your baby. If this situation applies to you, please keep in mind that you cannot be signed up for this program at a family planning clinic. After you have your baby you can go to a local Department of Human Services (DHS) office to be signed up for this program. Click here to find a DHS office near you.

You may be able to participate in this program based on your income and family size. You must be a US citizen or qualified immigrant and an Iowa resident to participate in this program.
